Adam Webb
Pleasure to meet you! I am the founder of The PGDL Bible
I’m fresh out of the law school exam factory having just finished the Postgraduate Diploma in Law full time at the University of Law. I sat the course from January to August 2023 and am now working as a litigation paralegal in a London City firm.
I began creating the PGDL Bible at the end of my first week on the PGDL. I remember my contract law professor telling the class that we needed to document every court case in the textbook, which came as an unpleasant surprise given the extra work we realised it would entail.
So week by week, unit by unit, I logged every court case, and made dynamic, instantly accessible and hyperlinked flowcharts which I tweaked during seminars, and perfected over the year.
During the open book exams, I consulted nothing other than The PGDL Bible. The magic of the system is how quickly you can navigate your knowledge. This ensures you extract maximum detail to get into the distinction band, but significantly faster than other study note solutions.
Thanks to The PGDL Bible and a good amount of old school graft, I completed the PGDL with the following marks:
Contract law: 80%
English Legal System and Constitutional Law (and Retained EU): 81%
Criminal Law: 83%
Tort Law: 85%
Land Law: 86%
Administrative Law and Human Rights: 87%
Equity and Trusts: 88%
Law of Organisations (Company): 88%
The course was an incredibly tough 8 months, but the subject matter is fascinating.
Whether it’s the sudden realisation that you enter far more contracts than you would like to believe, or that crimes you read about in the news may not be quite as clear cut as they first appeared.
You will never view the world in the same way again after the PGDL!
I cannot think of another course that crams 3 years’ knowledge into an 8 month timescale, so try not to be too hard on yourself during the tough times.
There are only 24 hours in a day, and everyone is in the same boat.
However, access to The PGDL Bible from day 1 of the course will put some extra wind in the sails; it could significantly boost your chances of securing that distinction. Just remember to roll with the punches, be an active participator in class, and remind yourself that it won’t last forever!
